An analysis of the Questionnaire into the Proposed Refurbishment of the Seaton Play Area which was distributed to all houses in Seaton in Nov 2019 is attached. The paper was considered at the SPC meeting on 8 Jan 2020. Priorities were noted, but no decisions could be made until the outcome of bids for funding from RCC and the Augean Community Fund were received, probably by the end of Feb 2020.

Disruption of Telephone and Broadband Services

Dear Seatonians and Councillors,

Last week's meeting of the Seaton Parish Council included detailed discussion of the telephone and broadband problems that many of us have experienced as a result of RCC's contractors cutting through Open Reach cables while working on Coach Bridge on 24 Oct 2019.

Church Carol Service

The Church Carol Service in Seaton will take place at 7.00pm on Wednesday 18 Dec 2019.

Everyone is welcome, so please come along to start Christmas with some very well known carols and familiar readings, followed by mince pies and mulled wine. Its a great way to get in the mood for Christmas.

And, bring a torch as it will be dark!!

Disrupted Telephone and Broadband Lines

Good news for some at least! Many of the villagers who suffered problems with their telephone land lines and/or broadband services because the contractors working on Coach Bridge cut through the cables have now had their problems resolved.

BT customers who are still experiencing problems or wish to claim compensation should contact BT by calling 0800 800 150.

Seaton Carol Singing -

Carol singing around the village will take place on Thursday 12 Dec 2019.

All those who would like to sing are asked to meet at the Seaton Village Hall at 6.30pm.

Anyone who would particularly want the carol singers to visit their home in Seaton should let Philippa or Sue Steward know on 747394 or 747725.

Rutland Mobile Library Hours for Seaton

Rutland Mobile Library

The Rutland Mobile Library visits Seaton and parks outside the Village Hall on alternate Wednesdays (excluding bank holidays) between 11.20 and 11.40.

The Library is free to join; does not charge for overdue loans; and, is accessible by wheelchair. It has a range of popular fiction and non-fiction books, including some with large print and some talking books.

Road Closure on road to Moorcot - 23 Oct until 24 Dec 2019

Rutland County Council (RCC) has notified us that there will be an extended road closure on the road to Moorcot for 63 days from 23 Oct until 24 Dec 2019 to allow Tarmac to undertake road and bridge maintenance. Diversions will be marked. Full details are attached.

Seaton Parish Council has asked the RCC to expedite these works, but some significant disruption to traffic seems inevitable.

Voluntary Action Rutland - Social Car and Community Transport Scheme

Voluntary Action Rutland - Social Car and Community Transport Scheme

Rutland County Council recently visited Seaton to explain what transport services they can provide. There are 2 schemes.

The first is the CallCollect Scheme where any residents can register and order a minibus to take them from their home to or from Stamford. The service operates from 7.00am until 7.00pm each weekday and from 7.30am until 6.30pm on Saturdays. There is no service on Sundays.
