Seaton Remembers!

Seaton Remembers!

All Hallows Church, Seaton, was full on Sunday the 11th of November 2018 for a remembrance service to commemorate the centenary of the end of the First World War, and to remember the names of the 8 parishioners of Seaton, Thorpe by Water and Bisbrooke who gave their lives in world wars.

As part of the commemoration, Rutland County Council invited parishes across the County to produce artificial poppies for a display in Oakham Castle. Eleanor Coop led the project in Seaton and organised an event in the Village Hall with friends and neighbours to make over 100 poppies. The RCC subsequently gave the village a commemorative metal horseshoe with poppies, shown here in the Church.

They shall not be forgotten in Seaton.
