Seatonians Make 120 poppies for the Rutland Poppy Project

Thanks to everyone who took part in Seaton's fantastic support for the Rutland Poppy Project which was held in the Seaton Village Hall on 7 July 2018.

The event made 120 beautiful poppies which will now form part of a wider display of poppies in Oakham castle to commemorate the end of WW1.

Good as New Sale 7 April 2018

On 7 th April 2018 between 2pm and 4pm a good as new clothes sale will be held at Seaton Village Hall in aid of British Heart Foundation. There will also be the following stalls - books. bric a brac, toys etc. A raffle will be held.

Entrance fee £1 to include tea or coffee or soft drinks and cakes.

Bin Collections Resume Today

Waste collections will resume again in Rutland from Monday 5th March. RCC will have crews out collecting bins that were missed in Uppingham and Oakham last week because of the snow, as well as those that would normally be collected on a Monday.

Residents are asked to leave their bins out on Monday if they were missed last week or if Monday is their normal collection day.

Village Litter Pick Up Postponed

The Village Litter Pick Up scheduled to take place on on 3 March 2018 has been postponed until the snow has thawed!!!

It will now take place at 2.00pm on Saturday 17 March 2018.

Volunteers are invited to meet at the Seaton Village Hall at 2.00pm on 17 March, ideally wearing their own High Viz jackets and matching gloves!

Snow update from Rutland County Council

Rutland County Council asked us to broadcast the attached snow report which they issued in the afternoon on Wednesday 28 Feb 2018. You should note that bin collections were postponed but they ask you to leave your bins out.

Thieves in the Area Stealing Red Phone Boxes

Thieves looking very official are touring this area trying to steal red telephone kiosks.

They were driving a white transit van whose rear is painted with red and white stripes, like a Highway maintenance vehicle.

They were working with a pneumatic drill and were trying excavate the telephone box from its surroundings.

Auction Raises nearly £1000!

The auction on Saturday 17 th February 2018 organised by Brian and Sally Kirby and held at Seaton Village Hall raised £924 after expenses for the association.
