Seaton Carol Service

Everyone in the village is warmly invited to the Seaton Carol Service which will take place in the Parish Church at 7.00pm on Tuesday 18 Dec 2018.

The event will include traditional readings and familiar carols, followed by mince pies and mulled wine.

Please come and make this a truly inclusive village occasion - and bring a torch as the dark nights are creeping in.

Gerald Clarke lights Seaton Fire Beacon

Over 1000 beacons were lit across the UK at 7.00 pm on 11 November 2018 to commemorate the centenary of the end of the First World War.

Villages of Seaton, Thorpe by Water and Bisbrooke gathered at the top of the Glaston Road to watch Gerald Clarke, one of the elders of the village, light our new beacon which was a huge basket on top of a 4 metre telegraph pole.

All Hallows Church, Seaton, was full on Sunday the 11th of November 2018 for a remembrance service to commemorate the centenary of the end of the First World War, and to remember the names of the 8 parishioners of Seaton, Thorpe by Water and Bisbrooke who gave their lives in world wars.

The next meeting of Seaton Parish Council all take place in the Seaton Village hall at 7.00 pm on Wednesday 26 Sep 2018.

Age UK and McMillan Cancer Support Service in Rutland

The AgeUk/Macmillan support service in Rutland is now holding outreach sessions at the Uppingham surgery and Rutland Memorial Hospital for people affected by cancer and their families and carers. A Macmillan support worker/coordinator will be at each venue once a month.

Fying Scotsman crosses the Welland Viaduct again

The Flying Scotsman steam locomotive crossed the Welland Viaduct on 30 June 2018. Despite relatively short notice, Robin Clarke and members of the Parochial Church Council organised refreshments out of the back of a horse box so that residents and villagers could watch the remarkable spectacle from the fabulous vantage point of Robin's field which overlooks the viaduct.
