Graham Biggs presents HMS Victory, Trafalgar and its effect today....

Fri, 28 Feb 2020 19:00

Most of us have heard of Admiral Lord Nelson and the Battle of Trafalgar, but few of us know much of the detail such as where is Trafalgar? When did the battle take place? Who fought whom? Did Nelson lose his arm or his eye first? Did he really say "Kiss me Hardy" or perhaps "It's kismet Hardy"; and above all why does it matter today?

Well the long wait is over! Graham Biggs has kindly agreed to tell us all about HMS Victory, Trafalgar and its effects. His thrilling presentation will take place at the village hall on Friday 28 Feb at 7.00 pm.

Tickets cost £10 per person and include a sumptuous 2-course home cooked meal. And, you can bring your own drinks!

Full naval dress is optional!!

Please call Helen Coop on 01572 747 292 to book your place.

Please come along and help.

The team meets at the Village hall at 1400 hrs. Bin bags are provided but volunteers are advised to bring their own gloves and high viz jackets (if you own one - some spares may be available if you don't!).

Mon, 23 Mar 2020 19:00

The next meeting of the Seaton Parish Council (SPC) will take place at 7.00pm in the Village Hall on Monday 23 March 2020.

All SPC meetings are open to the public, so all villagers are welcome to attend. You may also propose items for the agenda by contacting the Clerk on the number given below.

The Clerk will publish the detailed agenda on the village notice boards at least 24 hours before each meeting, but we expect the next meeting to include an update on the planned improvements to the play area, including our grant applications, and feedback from RCC about our request for a survey to assess the need for traffic calming measures at the west end of the village.
