New Fence Around the Allotments Stops Vegetables Escaping

New Fence Around the Allotments Stops Vegetables Escaping

For years there have been arguments about whether Climate Change is real. However, there can be little doubt that the weather is becoming more extreme and unpredictable. Early 2020 was extremely wet; local golf courses (for those of us who need such things) were waterlogged and often closed; and, the winds across the Welland Valley were strong and cold.

One consequence was that the wooden fence around the allotments blew down - and it had only been there for 22 years! Fortunately, John Mayfield who installed it still lives in the Village so the Parish Council commissioned him to build and instal a new fence. The results look fab and are guaranteed for the next 25 years...

Thanks John - the allotment vegetables are now safe.
